Getting your home ready for photos
Your listing photos are the first showing. Buyers decide in seconds whether a home is worth a visit, and a prepared home looks bigger, brighter, and better cared for in every shot.
This list takes most homes about an hour. You don't have to be perfect, but every item you check off shows up in the final photos.

Outside
Inside
I'll take care of
- Fine-tuning lights and blinds in each room
- Closing toilet seats and small touch-ups in the frame
Please handle before I arrive
- Moving or rearranging furniture
- Cleaning, decluttering, and making beds
- Hiding cords and cables
- Pets and pet items
- Personal and hygiene items
Good to know
- Editing: I don't remove cars, cords, or clutter in editing, so what's in the room is what's in the photo.
- Pets: for everyone's safety, pets need to be crated or out of the home while I'm shooting.
- Need more time? Let me or your agent know at least 24 hours ahead and we'll pick a new time. If the home isn't ready when I arrive, a waiting fee may apply.
On shoot day
Turn on every light before I arrive, including lamps and under-cabinet lights, and open the blinds. Even on bright days, interior lights add warmth and depth. I'll adjust everything room by room once I'm there.
If the home has outdoor space, have the inside and outside ready at the same time. The light changes through the day, and being able to move freely between them means every area gets its best light.
Questions?
If something comes up before the shoot, or you're not sure about a specific room, reach out to me or your agent anytime. Thanks for taking the time to prepare. It really shows in the photos.
